“The Last of the Seven, or The Confessions of Dazaar” is the sixth in a series of nine stories featuring Dazaar and seven other devils. In the sixth story, Dazaar the Arch Fiend now possesses the body of Irma Plavatski, a Russian princess, and although Dazaar still has the spirit of a man, he also has the heart of a young woman. Irma Plavatski (as we will now call Dazaar) falls in love with a handsome young American, Tom Chelsea, but unfortunately, one of the seven devils, Don Murillo Cortez, has also fallen in love with Irma, and he murders Tom Chelsea in order to get rid of him as a rival. However, Irma is so distraught by the loss of her one true love that she assists Nick Carter in arresting Cortez, who is then tried, convicted and executed.
